Concealed Carry Online Application Information
Applying for a NJ Concealed Carry Permit is an online process. Vintage Arms, Inc. is authorized to offer the mandatory training and Use of Force (UOF) certificate required to apply.

NY Mental Health Form and Authorization for Release of Information Form are both required.
Authorization for Release of Information Form
Only fill out the specified fields:
• Page 1, Top Right: Name, Sex, DOB, SSN
• Page 2, Top Center: Name
• Page 2, Section C: Signature, Printed Name, Date
- Do not complete any other part of this form.
- Failure to return this form completed properly will result in your permit not being processed.
- No digital signatures allowed.
- Do not send photos of the form, please scan the form before sending it to us. A file scanning app used on a smartphone is acceptable. Click for example to follow.
All NJ firearm applicants must complete fingerprinting one time to initiate a background check.

• ORI #: NJNSPG500 (unless instructed otherwise)
• Contributor Case Number Format: First initial + Last name + MMDDYY of appointment
Example: JDoe010822
Your SBI number will be generated after fingerprinting.
• Request SBI Number:
- Email: FirearmsInvestUnit@njsp.gov 5 days after completion of your fingerprinting.
- Subject Line: "SBI number request, out of state PTC"
Include:
• Full name as shown on ID
• Driver’s license or state ID #
• Cell phone number
Your SBI number will allow you to proceed to apply online.
You also need to have completion of NJ Firearms training and the UOF certificate. Vintage Arms, Inc. is authorized to teach this course and we will gladly provide that certificate for you after successful completion of the course.
As of 2/19/2025: You can now submit your application without the SBI number, but fingerprinting is still required afterward.
If you live outside New Jersey, you do NOT need a NJFID card, but you do need an SBI number and must still complete:
• Fingerprinting through Identogo
• NJ Firearms Training + UOF Certificate
• Online application via NJ Portal
Out-of-state residents may use Identogo fingerprinting locations nationwide. Be sure to use:
• ORI#: NJNSPG500
• Service Code: 2F164B
• Valid Contributor Case Number (see format above)
Once you have:
• Completed your firearms training
• Scanned all required forms
• Completed fingerprinting (or plan to within 90 days)
• Received or requested your SBI number
